A funny story (my opinion) by a teacher, about a child's show-and-tell demonstration.
Pre-reading vocabulary:
show-and-tell : very common in USA elementary schools: An educational activity, children bring in objects to th class – then they “show” their object(s) and talks about it/them.
tame (in this sentence): ordinary, nothing too unexpected
lug: tote, carry
waddles: manner o walking (picture a woman, nine months pregnant, or a duck waddle-waddle-waddle, short steps with weight shifting side to side)
“umbrella cord” = umbilical cord
“middle wife” = midwife = person trained in assisting wit childbirth
