You are right Serj18! The more: if it were my decision, I would have cancelled the wartime (summer/winter time).
And why should I switch off the light on my birthday?
As we already have right answer, it is no sense of giving hint.
Yeah ursus, you are quite right! This is neither more nor less than holoturian or sea cucumber! I voted your answer.
Shortly: Far Eastern trepang, Japanese sea cucumber, fraudulent cucumaria… This is an invertebrate animal, in other words sea worm; it has cylindrical, less often spheroidal shape.
Holothurians move with the aid of their legs, which are situated not only in the ambulacres, but also often scattered over the entire body surface. Abdominal legs, used more often to move, are normally supplied with suckers, while dorsal legs are often transformed into soft papillae.
The mouth is located on the anterior body end and normally surrounded by a corona of 8-30 feelers of diverse shape: fingerlike, branched and corymbose. The feelers are used to feed with detritus or to filter food from near-floor waters.
Southern Primorye is inhabited by twenty-one holothurian species. Last years this kind of animals has been predatory exterminated because of its valuable healing properties. In China Far Eastern trepang is considered to be a sea ginseng.
To prepare it for eating you are to make a cut along its abdomen, remove the sand and guts and wash thoroughly. Then put it into the pot and boil (poach) not adding the water. The trepangs will excrete their own juice and boil in it. The time of poaching is about one hour or a little bit more, it depends on the size of the initial product. The trepangs don’t need salt, for their juice is saltish by taste.
I should say that I like every season of a year. And summer as well. Usually, my granddaughter comes to our place to spend her vacation. We are great pals. She accompanies me and helps in everything I do: in the garden, at the seaside or walking. She is never afraid to go together with me to the sea in the inflatable boat.
Yes, summer in our region is very fine, especially its second half – the end of July and August. Many people from the northern regions of Far East go there to have a rest on our beautiful sea shore, to enjoy tender sea and well warmed gold sand. I anticipate the pleasure of that time when I’ll take my vacation (from July, 26!).
Congratulations Olivia_ko! As you have avoided the straight answer, I'll do this for you.
This is coco de mer, “sea coconut”, two-lobbed edible nut, double coconut, the large fruit of a palm tree of the Seychelles. About seven years are necessary for the ripening of this wonder of nature. The mature nut reaches 40 kg (more than 88 lbs) in weight.
The island Praslen is the homeland of this nut. It is one of islands forming the Seychelles archipelago. The area of the Praslen is a bit more than 4,000 hectares. But 16 hectares of its May Valley with 4 thousand coco de mere palms growing there had brought him fame.
From ancient time, before Seychelles islands were discovered, the ocean waves washed these double coconuts ashore in Ceylon, India and even Malaysia. The people considered these nuts to be growing in the sea, in a certain paradise at the ocean’s bottom. That’s why this coconut was called “coco de mer”, or “sea coconut”. They were worth its weight in gold.
Nowadays the main part of gain after selling the nuts admits to the national treasury for the development of this young republic, whose folks and government have chosen the socialist way of development after the revolution (June, 1977). Victoria is the capital of the Seychelles republic.

Yes Exion, I’ve heard about this action. But using electric energy does not spoil our environment at all! This energy is mostly clean. Look at the oil/gas fields: giant flares burn days and nights! What better place than here to spoil our athmosphere? IMHO the Earth Hour is a foolish and useless thing.
In anyway thank you for discussion, I voted it.
I looked into I-net. This is a miserable part of what I have seen there:
This is a good picture of lightning.
On the second picture you can see very rear phenomenon: lightning during the lunar eclipse.
Oh, Exion, great thought you have got! Have a nice evening my dear friend!!! In this case I'll probably switch the light off too and set fire to the candles. I'll fill glasses with good wine for my wife and myself and we, having clinked our glasses, drink and kiss one another! What do you think about my imagination, Exion?
Well, cthtuf, go on! I feel your dignity & nobility behind your posts. You are able to express your thoughs clear, and gaining 16 votes is not a problem for you.
The weather is unpredictable indeed. And my forecasts did not come true! In fact, the rain turned into great snowfall an hour later, the wind turned into the north again. The air temperature has fallen to -10…-12°C. The thing what I should forget about is skating! But skating-rink is now arranging on the school stadium, two minutes walk for my house. So, I’ll have all winter pleasures! Many boys go on the slopes with their snowboards in our outskirts. If I were a bit younger, I would join them!

Not for nothing the second meaning of 'kingbird' is 'tyrant'!
