Don’t be in a hurry, Artur1986. Since you liked Ala from the first sight, there is no guarantee you won’t like another girl next day. I am sure, you’ll lastly meet your only half.
I recalled one good song performed by our famous actor Mark Bernes. There are such words in it:
The very best song hasn’t sung yet!
The very best girl is somewhere!
Everything is before you!
I’ll tell you what, my friends.
This dispute is a foolish one, for all languages are beautiful and melodious. And all of them do allow saying words of love and words of hate, singing nice songs, telling funny stories… The main task is to own the language you are speaking as better!
Nice poem you've written, _innisfana! Did you want the poem about love? Well, dear girl.
Hold on to your hat! This poem if fit for singing in the rhythm of waltz.
Vivid Recollection (to the very loved mermade of my underwater realm has been devoted)
Hello, my beautiful mermaid!
Hello, my idol coined!
I think of you without end,
Our hearts are firmly joined!
I heard your voice, I felt your breath
I touched your supple waist.
I gently stroked your hair and back,
And you were not against…-
I looked at your blue eyes with love,
Inhaled your pleasant smell.
I knew that your responsive heart
Could melt the ice as well!
I kept you fast in my embrace
And felt your throbbing heart
I kissed your neck, your brow and face,
I stroked your hips and butts.
I lifted you with careful arms
And carried to the bed,
I stripped you cautiously, whereas
I kissed you luscious legs.
My honey, let my never tell
What happened later, right?
Both you and I remember well
That sweet fantastic night!
Short masterclass? Well Tileno, thank you for your kind response apropos my fitness.
It is no secret that all the computers in more or less extent exert influence on our eyesight. Long time at the computer makes our bodies flabby and ugly. Where is the exit? I know! I tried this method with myself for the last more than twenty years! As a result - fit body and reading and computing without any glasses.
Many years ago I had felt that sharpness of my eyesight was getting blunted. I visited the oculist. The doctor prescribed me spectacles. Both glasses +1. I ordered them and soon began using them for reading... Some months later I ran against the book "THE BATES METHOD FOR BETTER EYESIGHT WITHOUT GLASSES", by William Horatio Bates. This book interested me very much, and I commenced to follow the author advice. Among the others there was the most fit counsel. You stand, your feet are at the shoulder's width. Turn your trunk, hands and head as much as you can to the right, with maximum effort try to remain in this position about 1 sec. Your hands are to be on your abdomen (left hand) and your waist (right hand). Your eyes look at the wall that was behind you back before the beginning, i.e. 180 degrees.
Then the same you are to do to the left side.
Please note: your eyes are to be opened and all objects surrounding must blink like in window of tearing at full speed train, not sharp! You are to relax your eyes muscles as much as you can. However the hands, neck and trunk muscles must work with maximum effort and amplitude. Please do this universal exercise once every day with 50 repetitions to every side!
Your waist will become slimmer after a month, at the same time you eyesight will improve. May be those who read with glasses before, could deny them!
I make this exercise every morning.
All who is interested in this book please see http://www.doyletics.com/art/bewgart.htm
By the way, I noted the time reqired for this one exercise. It appeared not more than 5 minutes! 5 minutes per day and after a month you`ll see perceptible results!
Try it and you will not regret!
A funny joke played on me my colleagues. It was just on the 1 of April, 1989. Our ship returned home after the voyage to Vienna and I, having taken my journey bag, went ashore. I carried my bag and wondered as heavy it was. But I consoled myself: the bag is heavy, for I’ve bought many gifts for my relatives. So I reached the bus stop and get home. As great was my astonishment when I've opened my bag and found there the main diesel engine timing valve (клапан газораспределения главного двигателя). Its weight was about 6 kg!
I’d like to tell you how I was considered to be a spy.
In 1987, being at the voyage to India, our ship entered Bombay (nowadays Mumbai). I went ashore during the watch off and got to the Gateway of India (see photo). The Gateway is a basalt arch 26 meters (85 ft) high.
The great square is placed in front of the Gateway and many people go there to have a walk. Many different entertainments are there but the snake charmer I’ve remembered best of all. The great crowd gathered round him, they were mostly tourists or sailors like me. The snake charmer fifed and the great cobra appeared from the jug.
I noticed some women near me and I guessed they were Russians (by their dress). I tried to commence a talk to them but they looked at me with fear and kept silence. I had no doubt they were from USSR and I continued speaking to them. But they did not answer though spoke themselves to each other. I understood they were thinking I was a dissident or a spy and I was going to have them won over to my side. As soon as I had explained them I am a Soviet seaman they smiled and told me they were from Ryazan and were there as tourists.
The Song About Love
the film “Naval Cadets, Forwards!”
As the life lacking spring,
The spring lacking leaves,
The leaves lacking storm
And the storm
Lacking lightning…
The years are so bad,
When loveless and sad.
-To take up your call,
Or your groan,
My darling!
The trouble
May be never foretold!
Do call me,
I shall come with my sword!
Though I have to pay
For that with my head,
I’ll surely do
This for you,
My darling…
The ways of the love
Are always so hard
For it are so kind
Tender moss
And clover.
The nightingales sing
And flap with the wings
And generous springs
Never will
Be over!
The world,
With its partings and pain
Will crown us
For good luck, glad and fain.
As we have the faith
In birds of the spring,
We hear their sing
In the winter,
My darling!

Oh, how ravishing you, Russian evenings, are!
Champagne and love, the evening glows and narrow side streets,
Ah, glorious summer, the amusements and the outings
Oh, how ravishing you, Russian evenings, are!
The balls and servants, beauty women and hussars,
And Schubert’s waltzes, and a crunch of dainty French treats
The evening glows and love, champagne, and narrow side streets,
Oh, how ravishing you, Russian evenings, are!
Oh, how ravishing you, Russian evenings, are!
The summer flames, when the sunset glow dyes
And only sky reflects in poet’s blue eyes
Oh, how ravishing you, Russian evenings, are!
Let it be dream, let love be a game so far,
What do my impulses and hugs imply for you, chum?
I shall remember both in this world and the next one

I like celebrating New Year in the bosom of my family. Now our children are adult and live in another city. But our granddaughter (12 y.o.) comes for New Year vacation to our place and we three together enjoy this good holiday.
I remember another 2006 New Year. In the eve of it my wife found herself in our district hospital. She was treated surgically and had to meet New Year in her two-person ward. my wife was too weak and it was too sad to meet New Year there. Her ward-mate was allowed going home and I decided to make good New Year meeting in the hospital ward. I took car television set with its adapter, artificial fur-tree with light-guide needles powered by AC 220, some tasteful meals and bottle of champagne and brought everything to the wife’s room. I switched car TV-set and new-year tree on and shut the light down. The room filled with many-colored lights and sounds of holiday TV program. I changed the dropping bottles for my wife, she might see all new-year TV transmissions; she didn’t felt herself lonely, and we both felt ourselves happy that long winter night!
Well done, ebuensar! You’ve described the main principles of learning/teaching: from the simple to the complex. Let’s hope our beginners will follow your kind and useful advice! Someone considers learning grammar is extra and useless, and the main task is to have mastered spoken English. But the time comes, when we feel lack of knowledge (e.g. for the business correspondence, writing documents and common letters). And we are beginning to feel we need more deep knowledge of grammar.
Not without reason is it said: live and learn!
Your wedding attire still has not been sewed.
The choir does not sing for a bride,
But time - our coachman light-hearted does goad
And steeds crave ready for flight,
And steeds crave ready for flight
As long as three horses
Don’t stray from the darting
The bell doesn’t subside under bow.
Two girlfriends eternal -
The Love and the Parting -
Go ever along one furrow.
We harnessed ourselves three fortunate horses
We did our gateway unbar.
But something already is shining before us
And something has gone our afar,
And something has gone out afar
This learning is sacred – to hear each other
Through distances, winds, for all-time
The Love and the Parting - eternal wayfarers -
Will share with us their pastime.
The Love and the Parting - eternal wayfarers -
Will share with us their pastime.
The longer we live, the years grow shorter,
The sweeter grow voices of friends.
If only we look at the face of each other,
The ringing of bells never ends,
The ringing of bells never ends.
The sun or the blizzard, the sea or the mountain,
The swallows or flocks of the crow,
Two routes everlasting – the Love and the Parting –
Pass ever through my heart aglow.
Two routes everlasting – the Love and the Parting –
Pass ever through my heart aglow.

As I had learnt to read very early, my parents made me go to school at the age of six. I was the smallest and weakest pupil in our class. The years flew but everyone among my classmates could offend me. so I obtained the motivation.
I remember as the film “Labours of Hercules” with Steve Reeves (see in the Internet) starred appeared in our cinema theatres. He had turned over my life. Five years later nobody offended me. The same time I noticed an interesting thing: I have never fought, for I had no need and reasons for that. As a rule my words were enough to settle the question.
You see, my friends, this topic is extremely complicated. Everyone of you has his/her own meaning, and everyone probably thinks his/her meaning is the only true. But we all are to respect all the points of view, nevertheless do we agree or don’t. I am a quick-tempered person but I don’t want take part in the further argument. I have a great advantage as compared to the overwhelming majority of you: I lived in the time of Stalin, in the time of Khrustchov, during the stagnation era and perestroika. Each period had both good and bad features. Each period was both fair and unfair relatively to the simple people. The main matter is to be a “black belt”, to be a master, to be a professional! In this way the person can reach his top, in this way the person may be satisfied with his job and his life.
You are right Serj18! The more: if it were my decision, I would have cancelled the wartime (summer/winter time).
And why should I switch off the light on my birthday?
Congratulations Olivia_ko! As you have avoided the straight answer, I'll do this for you.
This is coco de mer, “sea coconut”, two-lobbed edible nut, double coconut, the large fruit of a palm tree of the Seychelles. About seven years are necessary for the ripening of this wonder of nature. The mature nut reaches 40 kg (more than 88 lbs) in weight.
The island Praslen is the homeland of this nut. It is one of islands forming the Seychelles archipelago. The area of the Praslen is a bit more than 4,000 hectares. But 16 hectares of its May Valley with 4 thousand coco de mere palms growing there had brought him fame.
From ancient time, before Seychelles islands were discovered, the ocean waves washed these double coconuts ashore in Ceylon, India and even Malaysia. The people considered these nuts to be growing in the sea, in a certain paradise at the ocean’s bottom. That’s why this coconut was called “coco de mer”, or “sea coconut”. They were worth its weight in gold.
Nowadays the main part of gain after selling the nuts admits to the national treasury for the development of this young republic, whose folks and government have chosen the socialist way of development after the revolution (June, 1977). Victoria is the capital of the Seychelles republic.

I agree with you Serj18. We all are considered to be not very great experts in English, that’s why it would be better to keep to good English and stick to its hard and fast rules. In anyway, the four-letter words in English are not as rough as uncontrolled vocabulary in Russian.
Having visiting British sites, I got sure English people use four-letter words ignoring their offensive sense. My appeal on the forum to have refrained from unprintable language didn’t produce any effect.
In my opinion, everyone can express his thoughts without applying abusing words.
Once, being in the shower-room of the swimming pool (it was in Hungarian town Dunaivarosh) I had suddenly heard Russian foul language. I listened to those people and guessed right they all were the Poles.
I wondered: they used the Russian uncontrolled vocabulary among the good Polish words. I got ashamed of that!
I suppose, both English and Russian are rich enough to avoid the four-letter words. Let’s keep the language of great Shakespeare, Mark Twain, Jack London, Tolstoy, Pushkin, Dostoyevsky!..
As we already have right answer, it is no sense of giving hint.
Yeah ursus, you are quite right! This is neither more nor less than holoturian or sea cucumber! I voted your answer.
Shortly: Far Eastern trepang, Japanese sea cucumber, fraudulent cucumaria… This is an invertebrate animal, in other words sea worm; it has cylindrical, less often spheroidal shape.
Holothurians move with the aid of their legs, which are situated not only in the ambulacres, but also often scattered over the entire body surface. Abdominal legs, used more often to move, are normally supplied with suckers, while dorsal legs are often transformed into soft papillae.
The mouth is located on the anterior body end and normally surrounded by a corona of 8-30 feelers of diverse shape: fingerlike, branched and corymbose. The feelers are used to feed with detritus or to filter food from near-floor waters.
Southern Primorye is inhabited by twenty-one holothurian species. Last years this kind of animals has been predatory exterminated because of its valuable healing properties. In China Far Eastern trepang is considered to be a sea ginseng.
To prepare it for eating you are to make a cut along its abdomen, remove the sand and guts and wash thoroughly. Then put it into the pot and boil (poach) not adding the water. The trepangs will excrete their own juice and boil in it. The time of poaching is about one hour or a little bit more, it depends on the size of the initial product. The trepangs don’t need salt, for their juice is saltish by taste.
Candles... champagne... roof of the high house... camping... rest... For some reason you dear friends are telling about taking pleasure together… Really all you guess overcoming the difficulties doesn’t bring the hearts together?
You nasycoolcat have written "Through your grammar book away!!!"
Maybe you wanted to write "Throw your grammar book away!"?
Eh?
Thereby I cannot agree that the grammar books are harmful. Excuse me if my opinion differs from yours one.
