How much do you usually sleep?
Hi, guys!
Could you, please, tell me how much sleep do you need to feel comfortable all day long? I can't feel comfortable if I was sleeping less than 8 hours :). Some of my friends says that they can sleep 3 or 4 hours and feel thenmselves good.

Well...I need 6-7 hours to feel myself great!!! But I know a person who need to sleep more than 12 hours!!! That's why he always feel bad)))))))))

That depends on various factors))) During the weekdays I usually sleep about 3-4 hours per day. On Saturdays I sometimes allow myself to spend about 8-9 hours in bed. As a matter of fact I hate sleeping as I feel I waste my time while I am in bed)))))

I am like you, eksena. But I usually go to bed pretty early, and stand up early as well. 7...8 hours are enough for me to get myself restored.

It's as easy as that: I uaually get home at about 9 p.m.
Because of some household chores I can't sit down to work and some preparation untill 11p.m.
It usually takes me about 2-3 hourd to get prepared for the next day.
Then I have to spend an hour or two on self-education.
So it's almost 4 a.m. when I finally can get to bed.
I get up at about 7 a.m.
As you see, there are no two ways about it.

To be honest, I should add that quite often I want to enjoy a 6-hour sleep, but that's OK.

Honestly I sleep 7-8 hours, My activity starts after midday, it's only my body, I can't do things so early. And my job starts at 11-12 a.m. so that's feels good for me. I'm happy))))

I usually try to sleep 7-8 hours. If I slept less than that for more than one night, I would feel totally exhausted by the end of the week. Now I strive not to stay late at night and to get up early in the morning as I bet it gives more opportunity to do lots of necessary stuff. =)

I realize that sleep is like charging a battery. How much I need or desire depends on the state of my mind and body: last night I required 6 hours only; the night before was 8 hours! I find that my body feeds back to me information on the amount required at any given time!

It depends on some reasons... Usually I sleep 7-8 hours, but I can sleep 4-5 hours and feel myself good, but it can't be repeated more than 3 - 4 days at a time, you know. People should sleep 7-8 hours per day, no more and no less, cause condition of your skin, health, and body depends on your sleeping time. So we should try to sleep 7-8 h.

I think ecology also influence on the duration. BEcause, when I was in mountains I coold sleep less than 7 hours and ride snowboard all day long.

well.....I need 8 hours to feel great.....but i usually sleep less than six hours, cause i have many staff to do......:)
I usually sleep at 01:00am except of Friday and Santurday.....cause I do not sleep at all...:) and I wake up at 06:00am or 07:00am cause i have to go to the university and after that, I have staff that I like to do.....and I do not wanna loose my day by doing nothing...

I don't kno about dependence between long a sleep and gaining the weight, but i know for certain, it is impossible to lay down right after eating-it will precisely lead to get fat )))

I want to say my opinion ))))
I CAN sleep about 9 hours and when i'm liying in the bed - is so good for me to sleep for a long time.. But when i woke up I already feel panic! And try to understand - why I sleep so long??? Why why??? Because, it was so good))) Amazing feeling)))) Just lie and sleep in your lovely bed))))

I`m very strange person. I always sleeping 6 hours(maybe little more) and when I waking up, i think: when I`ll return from school back in home, I`ll take a brake - one or two hours of sleep. But when I`m сrossing threshold of my flat, I absolutely don`t wanna sleep. It`s a paradox)))

Due to my university schedule I can sleep as much as I want) But when I worked I had to get up very early in order not to be late. Maybe it will sound strange but I miss that time! When you wake up at 12 or even later you don't feel like doing something, and then you become more and more lazy...

Recently I've watched a great film about Nikola Tesla, a brilliant physicist and the most mysterious person of the XX century. He worked so hard that he slept only 2 hours a day, and for him that was enough. So do extraordinary people need less time for sleeping? What do you think on this subject?

Nikola Tesla was a person possessed by science, and probably his possession didn’t allow him to sleep more. He might hold an electric lamp in hand and lamp shone! Unfortunately, many of his mysteries have gone together with him!

Very painful topic for me(((((( I feel awful when I have to wake up at 6-7 am. From the other hand occasionally Mrs. Insomnia visits me at night. From the scientific point of view 7-8 hours are good for young persons. Seniors need less than that.
