Moscow Mayor Promises a Winter Without Snow
For just a few million dollars, the mayor's office will hire the Russian Air Force to spray a fine chemical mist over the clouds before they reach the capital, forcing them to dump their snow outside the city

Hooray!

Who dare say we are poor? Who can afford to throw away a few million dollars just for nothing?!

The only problem might be caused by those who were paid for clearing the streets. Anyway, they could earn their living by selling paper snowflakes to those old-fashioned can't celebrate Christmas without snow.

p.s. However, yesterday it snowed in Moscow (perhaps, for the last time). Today it's sunny and bright, white snow on the green grass and red Rowan-berries looks wonderful. Dear Muscovites, enjoy the view!

I'm not sure how to feel about this one. Winter without snow? It's sucks.

Ha-ha! While you are speaking about snow, we together with my wife have had a good ski airing in our place!

What is Moscow for you? You are not living in here. Mocking and deriding is all you can do in the discussion.

Don't say this way, eksena. I remember as I have been to Moscow on the 13 of October, 1982! Great snowfall was all the day long. It was too cold, for I was not ready to such a weather that time. I failed to see the joke!

there's no joking here

If seriously, fighting with nature is bad idea. I don't think the chemical precipitations will be useful for Muscovites.

I think if I lived in Moscow, or any other foreign city, I would probably welcome the comings and goings of the seasons and accept them as God directs them. Otherwise, I think life in the big city might get boring! Of course, there are those who can not walk safely on ice or snow, so I do fear for their safety; but , not enough to ask the snow to stop falling! I think of snow as nature's gossamer garb!

Yes, you are right. Actually, the news is very sad.

Nastycoolcat and I were trying to back each other, none of us like the idea.

Yes, it would seem inconsiderate to cause Moscow's snow to fall totally on those in the environs!

it snowed again, and yahoo says we're having 34 degrees F)) I like such weather: cool, bright sun and snow
